Cumbria Connect
Every now and again a passion project comes along that you just can’t say no to.
One such project and one that I’m currently working on is some documentary photography for Cumbria Connect. So what is Cumbria Connect I hear you ask?
Cumbria Connect is a collaboration between land owners, farmers and conservation groups to restore nature, increase biodiversity and try to find a harmony between landscape restoration, farming and other important social impacts such as flood prevention. It’s a collaboration between RSPB Haweswater and the Lowther estate on the eastern edge of the Lake District National Park, crossing into the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
I am working as a conservation photographer to document the people side of the project and tell their stories in pictures. This means meeting farmers, land owners, ecologists and others who are working together to see how they play their part in how nature friendly farming could look in the future.
