Mountain rescue in Snowdonia.

I try to grab every chance that I can to spend a day or so in the mountains. This isn’t as often as I’d like but I enjoy every single second of being there (even those wet Scottish winters) but occasionally we all get those stunning days with perfect conditions that just make it the most incredible experience. Autumn temperatures, clear skies and dry, it doesn’t get much better. However, even with conditions this good the mountains can throw the odd banana skin at us all. I was out walking the Glyders with a friend last week, and having just posed for our ‘cantilever’ shot on Glider Fach we were told that the coastguard helicopter was coming in for a rescue. It’s always incredible to watch these guys operate and this was one of those rare, close up moments. I held back from photographing the injured party out of respect as I wasn’t aware of the extend or circumstances of their injury, but grabbed a few of the helicopter at work and a handful of landscapes. Hopefully all went well with their recovery and it was another reminder of potential events in the mountains.
